DIgital Detox at the Library
Are you looking to take a break from the endless doomscroll of the Internet? You can make your digital detox fun and easy by attending some of our library events! We know the online world can be a scary place, and that’s why we’ve worked to create events and opportunities that everyone can engage with alongside other members of their community!

We love programs that bring people together over something they can all enjoy. That’s why we created Speed Friending and Game On! Mashup, which meets at Beer Hog once a month. This event creates that inviting space for people to turn off their devices, get off Instagram, and play some games while making some new friends!
Groups that work to engage in creativity and right-minded activities are also a great way to unwind and get off screens! Our adult crafting classes teach anyone new skills and fun artistic mediums to create in, like the Downtown Huntsville Public Library’s Bookbinding series, where you can create and take home your very own handmade journal.
And we can’t forget the importance of making space for peace and quiet time. We have all sorts of silent, no homework book clubs like the Hush Hour Book Club, which welcomes anyone who wants a cozy, peaceful reading environment for patrons who want book recommendations, but no homework or discussion time.
If you are looking to start a Digital Detox, look no further than your own local library!
