North Huntsville Public Library's Opportunity Expo
The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is proud to offer patrons workforce development opportunities. As Madison County continues to experience exponential growth, we want to ensure our community has the necessary tools to secure meaningful employment as the job market expands.
In addition to digital literacy classes, resume and cover letter workshops, and specialized software training, we were proud to offer job seekers a chance to connect directly with potential employers at our first Opportunity Expo, hosted at the North Huntsville Public Library. This comprehensive range of services is designed to empower job seekers with the tools and skills to succeed in the job market.
On November 6, we invited 16 businesses to set up tables in the library and chat with job seekers about opportunities within their companies. While patrons were encouraged to bring their resumes, it was not required. For those not yet ready to join the job search, Workforce Development staff members were on hand to provide guidance on resume development and share information about upcoming computer classes and tech training.
The Opportunity Expo was free to attend, with no registration or library card required, ensuring that everyone interested could participate. We will continue to explore new ways to support our community, helping members feel prepared, informed, and confident as they navigate an ever-evolving job market. Our library remains committed to serving as a resource and point of contact for patrons seeking professional development and new career opportunities.
