Our Summer of 1982 continues this Friday, June 24th at the Madison Public Library with the scariest movie from the Summer of ’82- Poltergeist! (trailer)
The Freeling family is experiencing some supernatural disturbances in their new home and discovers there are worst things than your contractor cutting corners and using cheap materials- ghosts!!!
The movie will begin at approximately 8:30 but the fun begins at 6:30 with various outdoor activities available.
At 6:45 we encourage everyone to participate in our All-Ages Best Dressed Ghoul Beauty Pageant. Get your Halloween costume out and make yourself look like a ghoul, a vampire, a witch, a zombie, a ghost and come down and strut your stuff. One Grand Prize Winner will receive a Funko Pop! Rides Ecto-1 with Trevor from Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Then at 7:10, we’re looking for the master of 80’s Horror Movie Trivia. The trivia contest is open to teens and adults who can put their useless knowledge of 80’s horror movies to good use. First Prize includes a Neca Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th Part VII- The New Blood along with DVDs of 80’s horror classics Motel Hell and Firestarter, the Blu-ray for Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining and copies of the books Hidden Horrors and It Came From Hollywood. Second Prize includes a double feature DVD of the classics A Nightmare on Elm Street and A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge and copies of Hidden Horrors and It Came From Hollywood.

To make sure everyone is protected from the supernatural as well as the “Poltergeist Curse,” we have Ghost Whistles while they last! Whenever you get frightened by the movie, blow the Ghost Whistle and stay safe from the forces of darkness!
Ghost Whistles come in various colors and look like natural lips to confuse the spirits and keep you safe! 
Also, right before the movie begins, we will have a drawing for a frozen dead body! That's right, someone will be going home with a frozen dead body!!!
There will be 50 Poltergeist pins available- part of our Summer of 1982 pins.

Bring you lawn chairs, your blankets and dinner and have a picnic during the movie. If you don’t have time to grab grub on your way to the movie, the Lawler’s BBQ food van will be here with before the movie. Lawler’s will only be able to accept cash, so bring some bills and your appetite and enjoy some delicious Lawler’s BBQ under the starts.
