Two Librarians Walk Into A Shelf - Episode 13

Trick or Treat?!

Maybe both.

If you don’t know who Paul Lynde was, he was an actor and entertainer, most famous for his role in Bewitched as Uncle Arthur and for his time on Hollywood Squares. He is unfortunately no longer with us, but his brand of slightly off-color humor and his mischievous grin are hard to forget. You can find his beloved 1976 Hallowen Special on Amazon prime, complete with special guests Kiss (in their first TV appearance ever), Florence Henderson, Margaret Hamilton reprising her role as the Wicked Witch of the West, Betty White, and Donnie and Marie Osmond.

We were inspired by the poignancy and the hilarity of the variety show style to incorporate something a little different in this week’s episode. We asked our coworkers if we could use their talents, both supernatural and natural, and their creativity (and their time), to create something fun and different and bring hopefully what amounts to more than a little joy to your day. You will hear our coworkers Gantt, Lucretia, Tessa, Eileen, and Stephen, and our boss Sarah lend us their time, talent, and humor in this episode. You might even get to meet the ghost of Paul Lynde as we try to recreate that magic.

You might also know Paul Lynde as the voice of Templeton the rat in Charlotte's Web, or as Harry McAfee in Bye Bye, Birdie.

2020 has been difficult for many people for many reasons, and we can’t possibly address the ways in which and how hard this time has been, but what we can try to do is to bring you a little creativity and a few laughs to brighten your day.

We hope you enjoy the Two Librarians Walk Into A Shelf Halloween Variety Show Special. You can find us on Anchor, Breaker, Google Podcasts, Pocket Casts, RadioPublic, Spotify, Apple Podcasts. We’ll be back next week with more book related content. We promise.
