Heathers- 1989- Black comedy about popular students vs. the king of the outcasts. With Christen Slater and Winona Ryder.

 

 

Asylum- 1972- Amicus horror anthology based on short stories by Robert Bloch, who also scripted. With Peter Cushing, Britt Ekland and Herbet Lom.

Airport 1975- 1974- An all-star cast (circa 1974) depends on Charlton Heston to save them after a midair collision with another plane.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers- 1978- Intense and frightening adaptation of Jack Finney’s novel about “pod people” taking over the earth. Top rate science-fiction storytelling and one of the best remakes ever produced.

 

 

How to Frame a Figg- 1971- Skittish Mr. Figg discovers city corruption in the town’s new computer system. Another comedy team-up of Don Knotts and director Alan Rifkin, who previously made The Ghost and Mister Chicken- 1966. With Yvonne Craig.

 

 

The Beguiled- 1971- The original with Clint Eastwood as a wounded Union soldier taken in by a Confederate girls’ boarding school. A tense, twisty thriller. Directed by Don Siegel.

 

Summer of ’84- 2018- Tense mystery that pits 80’s era teens against a neighborhood psychopath. (It is kind of like an 80’s version of 2007’s Disturbia.) With Caleb Emery, who can currently be seen as Booty McGuigan on Amazon Prime’s series Hunters- 2020.

Mother’s Day- 2010- Terrifying and disturbing horror remake with Rebecca De Mornay as the wicked matriarch who raised her family in the finer points of home invasion.
