February is Love your Library Month. Show your library some love by visiting during the month of February!

International Book Giving Day

February 1 -13

Bailey Cove Branch Library

Help Local Children Love Books by donating new or gently used children’s books at the Bailey Cove library to be given to a local organization that supports children and learning.

 

Caturday

February 2 • 10:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Madison Public Library

Why have just a Saturday when you can have a CATURDAY? Celebrate all things cat with special guests Madison Animal Rescue Foundation (MARF) and Therapy Partners. We'll start the day with a cat-themed family storytime at 10:30 a.m. in the auditorium. Then we'll head to the program room to see some feline friends from MARF until 2:00 p.m.   Teens can join Ms Nora for Caturday Crafternoon (think hats for cats and more!) in the Studio from 2:00-4:00 p.m.  At 3:00 p.m. we'll have Chico the therapy cat and her owner Cheri come tell us all about Therapy Partners and what they do for our community. Enjoy a variety of cat activities and displays throughout the day  It would be a cat-astrophe to miss! Donations to MARF of kitten food and cat litter appreciated.

Young and old alike are welcome to join us to make your sweetie a card for Valentine’s Day! Supplies provided.

 

Teen Night: Valentine’s Day Cards

Get creative and make some unique Valentine's Day cards for the special ones in your life! All supplies will be provided for free, but feel free to bring some special supplies from home you'd like to use.

 

Once Upon a Winter’s Night

Madison Public Library

Join us for a special family-friendly after-hours event at the Madison Public Library. We’ll celebrate fairytales through puppet shows, games, crafts, music, and more! Meet real princesses and learn fun dances. Pajamas and fairytale garb encouraged.

In February our thoughts turn towards warmer weather approaching.  Seed Balls that will spread flowers native to Alabama are a wonderful way to get Spring started. Join us to make a few seed balls to take home to your own gardens.

 

Book Bash: Arthur

Madison Public Library

As we anticipate our author visit from Marc Brown, we'll celebrate all things Arthur through activities, games and a snack. Note: this event is on both Thursday, February 14 at 4.p.m. and  on Tuesday, February 26 at 6 p.m. Please choose the date that works best for you.
