We are so excited to have Renasant Bank as our sponsor again for this summer's movie series at the Madison Public Library.

The movies will be on select Fridays. Bring your picnic blanket or chairs and join us on the patio! While we make every attempt to control the weather on movie nights, any decisions on rescheduling due to inclement weather will be made by 5:00 p.m. (but fingers crossed for beautiful weather each evening!) Also, if you are prone to bug bites, bring your bug spray!

Here is the schedule:

"Adulting" is any task or activity that holds a feeling of weighty responsibility or drudgery, any task that someone who has their life all together might find easy.

The library has an ever-expanding role as the purveyor of information – not just for research projects, but for hobbies, STEM careers, and entertainment - why not also provide information for young adults who want to be successful in life outside of school?

Last summer we hosted a series of educational programs at the library geared toward new and young adults that focused on the drudgery of adulthood, like laundry, social media, home maintenance, and personal finance.

Our library loves to showcase its talent when the opportunity arises!

Emeka Barclay Marshall, an educator with the Huntsville City Schools, as well as a part-time employee of the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, won a prestigious award for her self-published book of poetry.

The Black Caucus of the American Library Association, Inc. (BCALA) and BiblioBoard announced the winners of the 2019 Self-Publishing EBook Award on April 30. Following the model of the current BCALA Literary Awards, the award honors the best self-published EBooks in fiction and poetry by an African American author in the United States. This is the fourth time BCALA and Biblioboard have given this innovative award.
